Im looking to purchase a low end soundcard that can do 5.1 analogue whether or not i need pcie or pci , i dont know:confused:, i run the rig in my sig and was wondering about my crossfire 5770's and would pcie sound card mess with them at all or will it be fine ?

From what I gathered so far since looking for a sound card is that if you have crossfire you can forget about pci as the card won't probably fit.

pci-e is the way to go

Depends on the layout. Not all manufacturers place PCI and PCIE slots in the same locations.

Looking at the OP's board, it would appear he cannot use PCIE. This is assuming the top GFX card is a dual slot. The PCIE slot above the GFX card may be hindered by the north bridge heatsink, which is bad designing on MSI's part.

If that is the case, then the PCI slot above the 2nd GFX card will be free.

Yes my cards are double slot and my top pci-e slot is clear, dont think the heatsink would be a problem (i hope) but just to clarify it wont interfer with crossfire cards in pci-e sound card ?

It will be fine. As long as your gfx cards are installed and running in SLI and you have another free slot..it is free to be used and won't interfere with other hardware.
