ok im going back into driving sims again, getting my g25 on tuesday so want to find a decent sim to play, seen a few but bit confused to which one is more better/popular.i have seen rfactor, live for speed.not really want to pay a subscription so iracing is out,so what the better one of the two,i was sliding towards rfactor could i get this second hand in member market? would like your opinions on this game or any other ones that are realistic ect.

i already have dirt2 and nfs-shift on ps3.:D

I have both rFactor and LFS.

I will say my opinion hands down; Live for Speed wins. All depends on what you want out of the sim, the most realistic is LFS in terms of physics and its currently awaiting a new tire physics model.

Online its easily the better of the 2, simple reason is the content, while limited compared to rFactor it also works in the flipside since you can get on a game pretty easily. rFactor, most times I find I have to download a map, or a car or a series and it just gets really fustrating. However if your interested in downloading custom maps and cars then rFactor is the only one that will allow you do to this.

In terms of graphics, rFactor is better but Live for Speed being an ongoing project will always improve.

In terms of how the G25 works with both games I have to say Live for Speed again. Its much more composed and responsive, and the feedback engine is amazing, and nit-picking rFactor it doesn't seem to have manual clutch (even with autoclutch turned off, you can still change gear without it).

So just to reiterate, Live for Speed. Hands down.

On the iRacing topic, I tried it for 3 months on a special deal. Its pretty much the sim to go for if your well into your racing sims...no question there, but it requires lots of time and dedication.

thanks for all the advice guys decided on
Race 07
GTR Evolution
STCC
Race On

managed to pay using paypal so all is good, should recive my g25 today while i am waiting i am building a frame for it to attach to so thats gonna be interesting and hopefully it will work.

so if anyone plays the above games then add me to your steam:- rickfowler been a while since i played so it be like learning all over again.

i'd take LFS over Rfactor just for the feel of the sim but theres a lot of niggles, bugs and missing features.

Rfactor has far more content available due to mods. Bored of LFS for quite some time so am paying out for IRacing which although continually developing feels more complete , but willl go back to LFS when S3 or new content arrives.

You didn't specify you wanted track racing so I'm just going to throw the best rally game into the mix: Richard Burns Rally. Nothing compares to it on the rally side. It's getting a bit old but I bet most sim racers agree with me on the quality of the game.
