All Steam games restart my PC

This started happening a few years back with CSS and HL2, but today I finally decided to reinstall them and it still happens :/

The games load up fine but after about 20 seconds, my PC will just restart, with no error message or anything. It's weird, because no one other games have this problem except ones off Steam.

My PC is capable of playing them as I've been playing them for years before, so I'm lost.

Please help. :(:p
 
I had this problem and I can't offer any other advice than to just give up, my experience was that bad.

I had a system, steam games were crashing on it. Valve said it was my problem.
Fair enough it could have been but I built a completley new system, steam games crashed on it.
Valve again said it was my problem. HOW!? with completley new and up to date components!?

Only suspect your computer when other games or other stuff starts to crash and never hope for (any decent) support off valve.
If you can't fix it through the bios or software then just don't bother and summon up the patience to wait until you get a new computer.
Unless you hopefuly do one day stumble across a solution.

Do you have any anti-virus software running?
Have you checked the steam forums for known bugs/problems? (Trawling for similar issues can be fun :o)
What is your spec?
Temperature of hardware high?

trp disabling steam ingame stuff if you haven't already. seems the most common thing to cause issues.

Tom0, it is a problem at your end.... as proven by the 3rd pc fixing it... you were just really unlucky to hit the same problem twice :)
