Hi, im after some advice on what to expect as i have been caught using my mobile whilst driving twice in 5 days (I know its wrong and im stupid!!! all im asking is for some advice on what to expect not to be told im a child killer and I know im an IDIOT). Now I have just surrendered my licence for the first offence today (I also got the secon FPN today) and explained to the person at the desk that I have to show my insurance docs and the other notice in a MET station, now my problem is I no longer have a licence to produce as it is in an Herts station but I have the signed FPN slip to say it has been handed in. I asked the person whom I handed my licence to what will happen when I go to the MET station without a licence, she said that because I have been caught for the same offence that I will have to go to court possibly either for being a pilliock and doing the same thing after already being caught once or for failing to produce. Now as far as I know the FPN is my punishment along with my now 6 points so I shouldnt go to court am I wrong? and secondly I have proof that I have already surrendered my licence and have the FPN as proof as to why I cannot hand in my licence. Basicaly am I going to court??? Oh the reason I havent been to the MET station already is because im waiting for a copy of the insurance from my company.

I did the same just over two years ago but about 2 weeks apart. Jobsworth police told me the same. Anyway I rang some number (not whilst driving :p) and got told to bring second fpn down to an office and they sorted it. Sorry I can't be more specific, it was a while back - Is there a number to ring on back of fpn?

Also insurance didn't increase with 2xCU80 either.

GT3, thanks im not fussed if my insurance goes up I was in the wrong I just wanted to know if court was an option :) which hopefuly I will have the same out come as you.

Thank you, I'm flattered.

You got caught twice within a week, that shows that you just have a plain disregard for the law, I'd rather that people like you weren't on our roads and I doubt that I'm alone in saying that.

Look at your keyboard. Look to the right of it, now come back a bit.

See that button marked "Enter", don't want to give it a test for me do you?

Thanks.

I dont see the big issue in talking on the phone while driving. Its a simple task and if people cant do that then maybe they shouldnt let them on the roads in the first place.

I can see what you mean but I have broken the law, I just think court is a little unfair if it goes that far for the exact reason you have put :)

Agree wholeheartedly, unfortunately some people are incapable of doing the simple task of driving without any other distractions to help them get it wrong!
