A few months back my dad ordered a new Mondeo Titanium X with the style pack. He went into Arnold Clark Ford dealership yesterday to pick it up, but there was a problem. It didn't have the style pack on it. As far as i'm aware the style pack means it has 18inch wheels and tinted windows and whatever else.
The salesman told him it was registered, with the plates on it, and taxed and that he had to take it. Then he slightly changed his tune and said "oh well we will refund the style pack option"
Good old dad told him he could shove it, and asked to speak to the manager.
After some back and fourth they admitted that it was their fault/problem.
Problem is he's now been told it could take another 3 months to get the exact car he wants. I told him to make sure that he doesn't pay any extra or anything, or they give him any less for his current car in trade in. Make sure the figures are on paper and set in stone.
What a **** up!
And seriously, are all car's built to order now?

Demand a loan car for the period until the new one arrives. They cocked this up, not your father.

This, i'd want a loan car of similar size to the mondeo.

If not i'd be very tempted to walk, why doesn't he buy a pre reg with like 10 miles on the clock and save himself 1000's and cut the waiting time?

They'd probably give him a Ford KA or Fiesta or somthing equally as useless.

He was actually telling me how one of the guys he works with has a just under 1 year old Impreza WRX and it had a disagreement with a tractor and trailer. So since his insurance company gives you a like for like courtesy car what did they give him? Another impreza? an evo? bmw? No.. Audi.... RS4!! 09 plated too!! He couldnt believe it when the transporter pulled up with it! I know i'd be happy with that swap, i'd tell em to keep the scoob.

Because the company he works for pays the first x amount per month of any "new" car he buys for the term of the finance etc, works out this mondy is costing him £100/month. And it's his by the end, so win win.

When my S3 went to the garage I ended up with an equivalent too.

Apparently a Vauxhall Zafira is equivalent :(

That's trolling, go to another dealer IMO.

I can't really recommend one even though I have owned 2 fords.

My dad never got the fixed/replaced boot cover for a Zafira that he bought from Arnold Clark. As soon as he had paid the salesman was unavailable for phone calls. My dad being busy gave up on it.
