Amazon doesn't count apparently.
Amazon have confirmed themselves that their sales do count. The chart rules state that the dealer (i.e. Amazon) must pay at least 40p for the track.

Amazon are selling the track (as well as the X Factor single) at 29p making a loss on each sale.
 
Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", as covered by Jeff Buckley in 1994 charted at number 2 on 21 December 2008 on downloads alone, following the formation of a 110,000-strong protest group on Facebook to get it above (winner of The X Factor 2008) Alexandra Burke's version for Christmas number one.

So downloads alone can get you to number 2.
