Clash of the Titans Trailer

Is Randy Orton playing Perseus?

I have to admit, that looked great - however I'm quite cynical of trailers these days.

Looks like a lot of fun. I loved the original back in the day. Oh, and isn't that Pete Postlethwaite speaking at the start of the trailer? That guy is a legend! :cool:

Agreed, i actually like the look of it too, and yes it is Pete Postlethwaite.

The original was immense and i have a feeling this will be too but in a completely different way.

People not impressed by a remake of a movie that people were not impressed with the first time round?

Now that is surprising.

Our company worked on it (we done the scorpions). I am really looking forward to the film because I loved the original but they have changed a few things round in this film so I am a bit worried that it wont be too much like the first one. If anyone would like any spoilers please do let me know because IM DYING TO TELL SOMEONE about how they changed a certain section in the film in quite a bizarre way :p

Why why WHY?

Just leave them alone ffs!

I can't wait for the remake of Titanic, Pulp Fiction and The Godfather with NEW AND IMPROVED CGI. IT WILL BE AWESOME YO.

Its got sgt hakeswell out of sharpe in it! (I think its Pete Postlethwaite).

Liked the origional; theh special effects were cutting edge for their time!

Love how people on here are always writing a film off after seeing nothing more than a 1 minute trailer.

yes, and to be fair that is only the teaser trailer - I guarantee that almost 90% of that is work is unfinished. For example the short bit where the scorpion stabs the floor (around the middle of the trailer somewhere) - it is supposed to be stabbing a digi double of one of the actors, however we were having problems with the cloth simulator for his cape so they just told us to leave it out for now. Have a look and youll see what I mean.

But anyway the quality of CGI in this film is definitely going to set a new standard. My only gripe with the film is the acting, specifically the acting of Sam Worthington - on set he really didn't act as if he was fighting off a 30ft scorpion so in a fair few shots we had to replace him with a CG character whom we could animate to act more....like an actor :p

What company do you work for samir_ansari? I was just coming in here to say I thought the acting would be quite good with Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes! Haha. I'm looking forward to this. At best, it'll be an amazing action film with good acting, good CGI, fun story etc. At worst, well, it'll be a fun action film. And I don't mind that at all. Sometimes I get in the mood for something easy to watch!

Hang on a minute, you worked on Avatar the most expensive film in history and the cgi isnt going to be all that, and you've worked on this, a thrown together mid budget legendary pictures project, and THIS is the one thats going to set new standards?

Which of these companies do you work for?
* Cinesite
* Moving Picture Company (MPC) (visual effects)
* Neil Corbould Special Effects
* Visual Effects Company, The (motion control)

Because these are the credited special effects companies for Clash of the Titans.

You forgot Framestore CFC, they have quite a massive part of it (Medusa) so I don't know where you are getting your information from.

I am freelance so I move around - Its how it works in VFX. At the moment I am at Cinesite but I have worked at Framestore. I personally just don't think that much of Avatar because other than the environments (which were created by WETA Digital) theres not a whole lot more to the film. The work Framestore done for the film looked like it was taken straight from an FMV sequence from some random game. Clash is very different - its one of the rare films where you will be extremely close up to the CG elements and so they have to be pixel perfect.

Also I didn't do an awful lot on this film at all and never said I did - I said I knew the guy who made the scorpions (sits a few desks away from me if you must know).

Believe me Clash of the Titans is going to look great - especially the Scorpion sequence. It's a little bit gorey so be warned.

Ofcourse, Ralph Fiennes is the man! his acting is great. Its mainly Sam Worthington and a few of his buddies who just didn't react much at all when being hit by the scorpion (who on set was a tall man in a green catsuit and a pole [rather funny]).

That information comes from the IMDB, at least it got you to spill your guts on who you work for.
