rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

Do you know what, I'm pretty damn sure I have this on an actual CD single somewhere... all my stuff is in boxes as I've crashed with my parents for a while, so no idea where it could be :(

Will take pics with Hovis if I find it :p :D

doubt cd sales will make much difference, who buys singles on cd other than old people? thank goodness woolies has shut down so all the fools dont know where to buy it from.

how many sales made last years number 1 and how many are ratm on now?

also i still aint heard it on the radio in work

Varies.

Last year it took Leona over 500,000 copies, whereas it only took 275,000 in 2007.

Joe McGayboy came on Radio 1 on my drive home, I was quick to switch to my iPhone and played RATM full blast most of the way down the M6. :D

People buying it as a Christmas present for their 13 year old daughters, who would rather not just give them an MP3 file.

Pretty much everyone who is attemping to get this to number 1 has already bought it, and it only reached number 2. X Factor is number 1 alone on downloads, not even in stores yet. It will sell triple what it already has on the weekend alone.

edit: nevermind, seems its already been mentioned

Er... according to the latest official figures released this morning Rage Against The Machine has a good ~10% lead on the X Factor single?

Rage is currently number 1 by 10,000 copies.

Nope, it wasn't "Killing in the Name", and it wasn't on CD :p but here you go, some good ol' 7" loving:

You appear to only be checking iTunes, like nearly every other person buying the Miley Cyrus tosh :)

bought mine this morning, seen that bbc article too! They seem a little stupid over there, report reads

McElderry's song was only released digitally after his victory in the X Factor final at midnight on Sunday, giving it less time to rack up sales for this week's chart than Rage Against The Machine.

But only votes past midnight on the sunday counted for this weeks chart, no? So they've both had equal exposure time.
