I cant think of a 2000 onwards car of that size and criteria that isnt going to be a complete nail. You wont get a nice 2000 Accord for that!
What's wrong with fords, vauxhalls, subarus and volvos?

Will look into itPrimera GT? Although it'll be a 99 plate.

Lol - so he dislikes everything he's owned and had a problem with?
Shock horror, cars when driven 8 hours every day need work doing on them. FWIW my car burns no oil whatsoever - not a reccomendation, just a point that he might be barking up the wrong tree with his criteria

If he wants reliability as a key concern, he should be looking at decent data about average reliability rather than relying on old fashioned brand prejudices

Primera GT? Although it'll be a 99 plate.
And he would rather carry them all on his back than drive a passat again. He had a bad experience with my moms T reg passat estate 1.8T. The oil pump failed and needed a whole new engine.
He thinks all fords have crap engines. He says every old ford he sees burns oil.
He's now on a P reg Vectra and it's been a pita since he had it.
an omega is a good shout actually. cheap and spacious
