rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

I expect the iTunes Top 10 is a just a rolling previous 24h total or something. It won't be complicated.
I also suspect the iTunes rankings are based on rolling figures for the past 24 hours. This is a good thing for the Rage Against The Machine effort given that a solid 1st/2nd position in a rolling 24 hour ranking demonstrates that the lead isn't just down to the 24 hour head start on Sunday (before the X Factor track was released on Monday).

Nice to see iTunes supporting the effort now...

Edit: Just after posting Rage Against the Machine took over the #1 spot in the iTunes singles chart again

I'm assuming he means 500,000 CD's shipped. I don't think it can be won in the face of that tbh.

Also how many of those cd's will be sold before sunday. I bet a lot of sales will be after sunday closer to xmas, which is good.

Tbh, i don't feel sorry for this jo bloke, because he will most likely be number the next week.

Maybe you're superhuman, but most people can't tell a decent mp3 or similar from a cd.

Most people didn't do a degree based heavily on sound recording..

I just prefer lossless tracks, which is why I still buy CDs and rip them :)

Just realised this song works wonders in iTunes. When it is playing push the atom symbol next to the display of how long its been playing. Well good playlist.

Wouldn't surprise me... everything else in this stupid world is rigged :p

Although I just thought, X-Factor = ITV, most listened-to chart = BBC R1. I'm sure there might be a bit of gentle championing for the Rage tune on Radio 1 :D
