'Untested' car parts on Ebay

It's an auction, so no idea. Working ones are £400. This one is at £160 with a few hours left.

I have a mrk 3 and have looked at these before. It's tempting as the mrk 4 is so much better than earlier ones, and should be a straight swap.

Do you have a existing screen Fox, or are you building from scratch?

Is the sat nav any good? Most of these built in sat navs are a bit pants.

That said, not-tested = known to be broken in my experience.

Where ebay is concerned...

...is always true.

It's been happening for years with computer bits.
I sold 6800 Ultra for 15 quid marked as untested. I assumed it still worked but I just put that disclaimer to avoid any problems in case it got damaged somehow while I didn't use it. They were still going for around 100 quid at the time :)

It does the job but isn't anything special but you can get 'dodgy' discs that add speed cameras and other tweaks. It is nice to have an all in one unit for radio, cd, bluetooth, sat nav.

No not really, its a bit rubbish and not as good as Tomtom.

However it makes the interior look miles better and works really well in conjunction with an Intravee and an Ipod for use as a media centre in the car. Which is the main reason behind getting it all sorted.

Are those dodgy discs available for Mercedes cars too?

at least the mark 4 takes full uk post codes, mine stops after the first letter of the second half

No it doesn't take full postcodes, the Mk4 does exactly the same as yours. Even the brand new BMW iDrive satnav doesn't support full postcode lookup.

Correct, its a bit of a pain in the backside too.

Still, I'd rather have the integrated system than a tomtom stuck to the windscreen like a *****.

I will hand draw you a card board cut out to replace the broken sat nav so your interior looks smart, and will also offer wotsits.
The ball is firmly in your court.
