Would you allow someone to die for 500k?

What if I take the money and give it to a charity that will use it to save many more lives?

Sure, but the only fact you'd know is that you'd killed someone. You can give £500,000 to a charity and assume it'll save a life, but you'll never really know.

500k, no. 500 million..., yes probably. Though knowing my luck the random would be a best friend or family member.

Shooting someone in the head, and then giving 500k to a charity that helps gun victims, does not change the fact that you shot someone.

Never.

I remember posting about this on another forum after looking up upcoming films and having read the synopsis on imdb
Having read the synopsis on imdb, will I be the only one thinking it's not much of a moral dilemma? I mean for me it wouldn't matter even if it was more.
No amount of money or posessions could change what I would have become if I pressed the button. As for the what ifs, that could go on forever, an endless arguement. So you give the money to charity and save lives only to find out you have killed a scientist who was about to make a big breakthrough and find the cure for cancer (or something equally world changing).

I wish you guys would stop twisting the question. The question is the question, you can't change the rules.. (Transporter-ish quote) ;)

True I didn't say I would, and for the record I wouldn't. Just throwing the idea out there.

Yes. One person in the world dies every second, and 3 are born in that same second iirc. The offer on the table does not imply murder in any way, nor does it imply the death of any specific person. If someone is willing to pay me a lot of money for a highly probable statistical event, hell yeah I'd take it! (though I would wonder what sort of mug would make such an offer where they're practically guaranteed to lose money).

I don't know how they've managed to turn a 30minute episode of The Twighlight Zone into a motion picture.

Does it still have that same twist at the end.

"Thankyou, here is your 500k. Now I'm going to give the box to someone you don't know."
