HTC Hero, coming July on Orange and T-Mobile, makes me want!

Each have their benefits. The G1 has its Qwerty, whilst the G2 has SenseUI.

I wanted a play with some of the applications that aren't available on 1.5, such as Google Goggles, so I've gone back to the G1 for now. The updated market is quite snazzy as well.
 
I just tried the 2.0 rom on my hero its nice, the keyboard is pants though not as good as hero's but that is easily solved i just used better keyboard, no pinch zoom etc but apart from that the new 2.0 is nice, this Hero AOSP 2.0.1-r5 its just the stock andorid 2.0.1 will keep using it for a bit see how it goes.
 
Has anyone else been experiencing sms delays with this phone?

I'll send a text to another Hero on the same network and quite often it'll take up to an hour for the other person to recieve the text.

Quite often i'll also be sent a message that I don't recieve until I text the person who has sent it (does that make sense?).

This phone seems to be great at everything but communication :p. Signal keeps cutting out during calls too despite me and the person i'm calling being in areas with great reception.

Would this be a handset fault?
 
I can get a brand new Hero(with a few days of usage)for 280,do you think that it is a good deal?I was more interested in the HD2 and Hero's screen doesn't look very responsive and it is pretty small,but for 280 do you think I should get it?

Snap its a nice phone but the apps/games side are not in the same league as the Iphone, all i spend my time doing is trying these custom roms apart form that it sits just used as a phone, anyone with a Iphone want a trade :D
 
Orderd this morning. £8.50 for the phone. 18 month contract, 200 Mins, Unlimited Texts for £20 a month. :D Happy with that. Will add an internet bundle onto that though, dunno which one yet.

sames lol, i dont worry about multi tasking, and the only thing i do do is phone or text and play the odd game, as there arnt many, id swap with a 3g iphone anyday.
 
Right something that really bugs me with this phone is the music player! When I copy an album over the tracks are in the right order but the phone insists on putting them A-Z and "play all" or "play" from the album menu wont play them in the correct order!

Its driving me mental 2 albums I put on there today get to work and the order is all messed up :(

Every phone i have had does that. :confused: Even my PC does that. Rename them with numbers at the front.
 
Somehow my order got messed up yesterday so rang them today. Got the phone free of charge (From £8.50 :P) Same deal just with 500mb internet usage for £5 a month instead of £7.50. Free delivery comming tomorrow! :D

Nothing wrong with the T-Mobile one, I just want to use the Modaco ROM.

EDIT: It doesn't seem to want me to root it. What the hell posessed them to not have installing to SD card as a standard feature? It's ridiculous! It is the only thing I want from rooting. :/
