Christmas 'do' tomorrow evening and have just been told no jeans which is fine. However I'm wearing a newly purchased black shirt and only have black trousers.

As I don't want to look like a waiter, funeral goer, or poor copy of the milk tray man I'm in need of trousers. I'll be wearing black shoes too.

Having only ever been a black trouser kinda guy it's a whole new world!!

The usual OcUK replies are welcome as long as a few decent suggestions are thrown in :p

Spec me tousers OcUK!!!

Black, nothing wrong with black.

The only other realistic colour is beige but if you do that you need a white shirt and a sweater vest.

Alternatively try and get hold of some decent pin stripes, slightly less sombre than plain black.

black trousers, black shirt, white tie, white braces and those two tone black and white gangster shoes. You'll look fly.

White belt or tie with white shoes, shamone!

Brown cords would work but bootleg and cut, drop the collar open and apply chest wig + medallion if required.

Or just black it up, black shoes, trousers and pencil tie, offset with trilby.

Personally I'd probably still roll with black strides but add a tie to add colour to the attire.

Actually I'd prob wear the orange tuxedo from Dumb & Dumber so I'd ignore the entire post.

You could get some black striped trousers. Which will take you away from the standard jet black trousers. I have some striped trousers but I also have a jacket to match.

I guess you could get away without the jacket. As mentioned though could go grey. It took me a while to turn grey :p but I prefer black to be honest.

In all seriousness a grey belt and tie would be a nice offset on all black. Just keep them simple and slim - unless of course you're rotund, and in which case it wouldn't work.

Waiter - normally black and white
Funeral Goer - Black tie (for gentlemen) is protocol, not black shirt.
Milk Tray Man - Black polo neck..IIRC

So no worrys!

Personally I would go with the black trousers but if you have a pair with a texture of some sort I would suggest those.
