Spec me a battery

Could probably do with a new battery. I beleive its a Type 019.

Current pricing:

Numax Battery (100Ah) @ £60+£10 delivery £70
Halfords Own Brand (95Ah) @ £99
Varta Battery (100Ah) @ £102+£10 delivery £112
Bosch Battery (100Ah) @ £119.99

BMW OEM battery from dealer: £109 for 70Ah, £123 for 80Ah or £142 for 90Ah.

How many Ah's do I need?

Varta - only heard good things about them. Using one (blue) at the moment and it's been great, holds charge for ages etc. Pretty good returns deal too, think it's a 4 year guarantee. Looks nice in the engine bay as well.

Don't know - all the text on the top of the battery has rubbed off and the BMW parts catalouge gives 4 different types which could have been fitted

Personally I would go for a Bosch silver top. I've always used Bosch batteries and they have always been flawless, anything Bosch is quality IMO. Can't comment on the others.
