Not related to anything medical!

I feel dogcrap as do quite a few of my mates and a lot of people at work. Is it just because of the sudden cold weather? Blocked/runny nose, cough, going hot and cold and slight headache is not fun. I also cant be bothered to do anything

It best be gone by xmas and new year

feel exactly the same.. my mum is the same.. i guess its because of the cold weather.. :/ haven't been ill for 2years + not that its bad now..

puh cold weather my back side its people who get a little cold so they have to have the bloody central heating at 30c without any windows open to try and get warm, there for the bleeding germs breed more in the hot climate

this central heating tbh causes allot of problems stuffy, muggy to hot houses.

yes yes me better half must insist on having no windows open and the heating at full whack because we have kids ummmm and at the mo one has a chest infection other a cold and im all ways stuffy in the morning cus she went behind me and closed the windows up after i got into bed :) bugger.

cold kills germs.

I agree, I have been ill sore throat even coughing up blood and STILL going to work, op just isnt man enough (true story on the blood as well)

It's not really better for your employer if you go to work and infect other employees, or if you drag your own illness out by not having it treated. Coughing up blood is not a minor thing.

I've seen it hypothesised that cold reduces the effectiveness of infection fighting in your nose, thus allowing inhaled infections more chance to take hold and spread.

Sounds plausible to me. There are more upper respitory tract infections at this time of year, despite the fact that cold should suppress viruses.

I've vowed to never moan about "flu" like symptoms, as last year I got it so bad that I soon realised any other time has been mild.

I was coughing so hard that I'd projectile vomit anything I'd eaten previously.

Stiff joints and muscles, no energy, constant headache, and I lost over a stone in weight within a week due to being unable to eat.

Any time since then that I've got something similar, I'm happy it's not as bad as last year.

I got something similar when i was in thailand last year minus the projectile vomiting. All i ate for over a week was rice and banana, anything else i couldnt eat even though i wanted to. I tried to eat a bit of pizza and it was like chewing a rock. I was constantly tired, headache and one minute freezing the next boiling. I went to a pharmacy and was given something that seemed to slowly make me better.

I ended up losing about a stone too. When i did eat again it tasted like the best thing ever

Yes having not been ill for a round 2 years I have the most sore throat ever and feel p@@, it keep me awake all night as well so extra peeded off.
never mind best i have it now rather then over xmas.

Its only from a sore throat/cough that has made my throat raw hence the blood, getting over it now anyway and with regards to the work thing I dont tend to be in the office much (I work around the country) so infecting my workmates isnt an issue so much :D
