rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

Cole added: "If that song, or should I say campaign, by an American group is our Christmas number one, I'll be gutted for him and our charts."

Yes, Cheryl. Wasn't it recently that your 'tune' polluted the said chart?

i love how those 3 idiots think just becausea karaoke queen wins the x-factor they should have a #1 single....

at best he should win a butlins karaoke competition, but no we are all mean and nasty for not wanting yet another karaoke singer at #1

She sounds like writes for the Daily Mail with words like the above. I mean "Gutted for our charts", sounds to me like she doesn't approve of foreigners invading a music chart that are meant to be "ours". A little bit TOO pro-GB, if you know what I mean...Curse those musical immigrants!!!

I might be reading a little much into this of course :)

To me, the whole situation with X-Factor, Cowell, Cole, Walsh, etc; is like the big kid bullies are crying/complaining because the poor sole they are beating on won't stand still while they are dishing out some pain.

Cheryl says:
I would be devastated to see Joe lose out to possibly the best thing that could happen to him in his life. Every aspiring popstar dreams of a number one record.

Okay so if he doesn't get Christmas number 1 will he give up singing forever?

I feel proud that my choice of nickname earlier in the thread (Jo Mcgaylord) has been so well adopted LOL ;)

Cheryl Cole, Cowell and most of the X factor fans just do not get this campaign. They see it as "mean" and "bullying" and just a bunch of people doing something random. They genuinely do not understand the meaning of it by the looks of it.

Therein lies the issue that many people have with the X-Factor (or more specifically, the manufactured pop-music industry to which it is the public face of). It's got absolutely nothing to do with the joy of performing music or the privilege of being able to do it professionally, but instead fame, commercial success and the manipulative means in which to achieve it.

I'm tolerant of music I dislike but this is far more insidious.

I think that's a mean and very cynical analysis regarding the x factor finalists themselves.

I don't hate Joe he's a nice lad I won't start calling him names nor do I hate the x-factor per se. But this could be avoided if they moved the show to finish 2 weeks earlier (can't be that difficult to do. Just have 2 contestants less next year. They will have 5 judgees to 2 each. Then the christmas no race will be back. :D everyone's a winner :D

This is exactly where I stand, I enjoy watching the X-Factor but this monopoly they have over the Christmas number one is extremely irritating.

She is pretty much the Daily Mail's target audience, chav with no class or thought process

Personally can't stand the show or the music, but lots do and many won't like my choice in music so who am I to complain?

But who's complained to any authorities? People realis4 that people like the show and music. But not everyone and the ones of us that don't are just showing are support for the other side of the industry.

it is simply voicing an opinion that there is a lot of us who don't like x-factor. Only a few muppets are saying it should be banned and many of them are probably saying it in jest.

There are so many dumb people about. On the local radio one of the stupid presenters was calling it bullying. How the **** is it bullying. I didn't know x-factor had a God given right to be at number on every Christmas. I wasn't aware that we have stopped the sale of his music. he has lost any revenue.

And Joes attitude that he would be upset if he didn't get too number one. IT IS NOT YOUR RIGHT TO BE AT NUMBER ONE, you have to earn it with the most sales, you have the best PR company with you. if you lose to an internet group it just shows how many people think you have little talent. It's a rubbish song and you sing it terribly.
