He is a sony shareholder...
"Killing in the name" is a Sony BMG track. For those that don't know, Sony BMG also own the rights to Simon Cowell's artists and own his record label, Mr Cowell is most likely a shareholder in Sony BMG. What this assumption means is, if everyone does go out and buy Killing in the name, (and it seems some people already are, despite the xmas no.1 only being based on sales from week commencing 13th Dec) all this achieves is to boost revenue for Sony BMG, the very people behind the X-Factor records we all hate so much. Because of this they are in effect, now gaining two sets of income thanks to X-Factor. Not only are those who LIKE the show buying their records, but also people who HATE the show!

The Bottom line Cowell benefits if either get to number one.
Both under the Sony corp machine monster.
Another thing...Them swearing did show a lack of intelligence.
They have that platform to boost sales and boost the campaign...But then decide to swear.
A silly move RATM you dingbats.![]()
wow...sony will make money but not cowell that has been established. Google is your friend. Its like saying don't buy a ps3 Cowell will make money!
Where does it say he is a Sony shareholder in that paragraph?
It says he is "likely" to be a Sony shareholder.
This isn't about Simon Cowell making money. This is about the stopping the X-Factor gravy train getting the Christmas number one again
Oh dear, epic FAIL!
RATM aren't in it for record sales or publicity
I know what its about.
But saying the cowell will not benefit is blinkered.
Buying the RATM single is boosting sales of xfactor lol
Don't you get it
I love the idea though
I bet you have never heard of RATM before jumpin on this band wagon![]()
I think people are thinking about this way too much.
I just want something different to be number 1 this year, and RATM is the perfect band for it.
The fact that Cowell et al have come out and started crying about it all just makes it even funnier.![]()

I think you need to realise this campaign has nothing to do with Simon Cowell making money, it's to do with trying to stop this years X-Factor winner having the Christmas No.1!

"He deserves to be No1. He was a lovely, down-to-earth, genuine guy when we met him on Wednesday and I wish him luck."
