Im new here, but not overclocking.problem is my 8500GT is regualy gettign to 105'c+ and sitting at 80'c in idle.so im going to upgrade the heatsink.i did want to use a AKASA Vortexx NEO but i dont think it will fit also i think its only ment for full sized cards.so i though about a zalman VF1000 bu ti dont like the look of it.so does any one else no of any other good coolers or if the Vortexx NEO will fit? thanks

i clean my case regualy because its a xclio windtunnel and get a hell of a lot of air though it also i replaced the paste the not long ago because i though it was cheap paste from stock but it donesnt seem to have helped.the heat sink thats on at the mo is tiny and the card is unbranded so it need upgrading to something bigger

Is the fan working? I can't believe it gets up to 105 unless there is something serious going on, could you post a picci or link to the card?

I think the price of zalman VF1000 exceeds the value of you card. I would try and scrape a few pennies together and just get a new card. I would look for something even cheaper than the vortexx NEO to make it worthwhile.

the vortexx is only like £10 so its not bad but im not sure it will coz the spec says it will fit the 8800 cards but im not sure.and the zalman is only £30 so again not bad where as when i get a new card ill proberly go for a zotac GTX 260 or 275 which a fair diffrence.

ye 8500 sorry and cant get a better pic sorry but theres a 40mm facing at the heatsink you cant see and a 80mm on top to try and help keep it cool

the neo doesn't have 8500 on its support list. Might be a bit of a gamble. The dimensions should be in the support tab's pdf so you can measure up.

Thanks for the pic.

ARCTIC COOLING ACCELS1 Rev 2 is suggested here. I really find much else I'm afraid.

ICing guide here but its not really what you're after.
