Acer Revo for HTPC

looking at the Acer Aspire Revo R3600 Desktop PC, Atom 230 1.6GHz, 160GB HDD, 1 GB RAM, HDMI, nVidia GeForce 9400 ION, WIFI, Linux

I know this is the old model with the single core cpu, I assume it's still fine for 1080p playback?

someone mentioned the fan in the revo can be a bit loud at times!

...yes it can do 1080p no problem if you use hardware acceleration.

Use the Ubuntu XBMC on it and it'll be fine.

I have copy of win7 that I am not using, so I was looking to use that. does the windows version of xmbc support gpu acceleration? and would atom 230 be ok running win7

No it doesn't support GPU acceleration on Windows.

ok cheers for that, so would have to use mphc or win7 media center which I know support gpu acceleration, my only concern is that win7 will run slow on atom 230

setup my dad's revo, it came with vista and runs fine, plays 1080p etc, dont think win 7 would be a problem.

which version r3600 or r3610? the 3600 is atom 230 and the 3610 is atom 330
