Im looking to get myself a new skt775 mobo cheap as possible to get the best out of the celeron E3200 ive just bought. Currently running it in an ASUS P5K-VM and to be honest....... the boaard has been a rubbish overclocker since day 1, had a core 2 duo E4300 before this and could never get more than 2.4Ghz out of it. Ive done a Vdroop mod to the board today which has made it a little better but i want to get something that i can clock out of the box without Vdroop mods etc.

Like i say i need it cheap as part of the cost will be paid for by selling the P5K-VM. I dont even mind buying second hand if im going to get a better board for the money

If it does'nt have to be M-ATX then the Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L Intel P31 is a fantastic board for the money. Loads of overclocking options that put's some more expensive boards to shame. I have had a E2180 to 3.6Ghz on one of these.

No it doesnt need to be a MATX board anymore as ive recently changed my case to a Lian-Li PC-A05 so ive got the extra space now. Any more suggestions?

I got my P35 (P5Kc) board for the overclocking option... as i hear they do a cracker job, although 2years down the line i have not acctully bothered to yet lol.

suppose i will when it starts to lag behind :)

About £30-40 2nd hand
£55+ New

Seconded here for the Gigabyte P31-ES2L. Had few of those in the past and got one here. Outstanding bang for buck and relable too and overclocks real well. Iirc it has some nice ram dividers too to make o/clocking even easier

Hey lads, I never got to try out a cheapie Gigabyte LGA775 mobo, any chance you could post a screenie of the overclocking options in the BIOS please! :)

Don't have my P31 DS3L anymore as i gave it to my son along with the E2180 @3.6Ghz. Quite a comprehensive bios for overclocking though. Someone on here even had a Q6600 to 3.6Ghz on one as well.

The P31 is currently sitting in a box so its a bit difficult to post any screenies:p. The bios gives options for basic overclocking, (vcore, FSB, ram dividers, fsb voltage, MCH voltage, pci-e freq, etc). Its nowt special on the face of it, it just manges to overclock further than you'd think for a mobo of that cost.:)
