***Official Assassin's Creed II Thread***

hi

ive collected some codex pages , and i think i need to take them to da vinchi , but where do i find him?

also what is the codex wall ?

thanks

The Codex Wall is in the Villa. It's just where you put the translated pieces of the codex.

Da Vinci is always shown as an 'L' on the map and he's in one of a few places depending on how far through the game you are (Florence, Venice or in the Villa).

well ive only collected about 3 codex's but it does say on 1 to decifier i must go to da vinchi but i cant find his symbol on the map.

do i need all 30 codex's first?

cheers

You will need to collect all the codex pages to progress to the final two memories - it's worth getting them decoded by Da Vinchi as you progress as some weapons become available by this method.

thanks im just going to have to find him now then , so he should be on the map somewhere with a L symbol?

could it be hidden if i have not uncovered all the citys viewpoints?

thanks:)

If you've not been to Venice yet then he will be somewhere North of the Auditore family home. Just grab some viewpoints around the area and you'll find him soon enough.

hi again

well ive not been to venice yet , ive just got to the villa part.

ive done a quick travel to florence and gone to da vinci's workshop but he is not there and ive got all viewpoints and cant see him on the map.

could he be in tuscany or maybe the villa ?

or

is it that im not that far into the story for me to get them decified by da vinci?

thanks

You will probably find him on the road to Venice. If you look at the map and go to one of the ! I found him with a broken cart.

When I went to his house though Iwas told he had left for venice.

Enjoying this game a lot more now I've not being trying to finish off every little mission and just sticking to the story, codecs and glyphs.

Impaling two at the same time, never ever gets old.

I was just doing that ****ing tomb where you have to get the 4 hanging things from the ceiling, got to the last one and power cut. Have to do it all over again.

I ****ing hate the tombs.

Is this game worth splashing £35 on? I was going to wait for it to come out on PC and get it for £15 or so but my PS3 is hardly getting used and i could do with a game to play over xmas.

Don't want to read through the thread just yet as a quick glance above suggests there will be spoilers galore.

I rented it but to be honest I wish I'd bought it then played it through a sequence every day instead of trying to finish it on rental. I have just finished level 8 and I estimate I've put 25-30 hours into it. About 2/3rds done.

It's a huge game and better than the first one, there's loads of side missions that you really don't need to bother with for money.

I just sit inside the villa leaving my game running and let the money come in for nothing.

There's no spoilers in this thread really, everything mentioned is just run of the mill that appear on your HUD rather than a spoiler.

I really really want to play this game again, but until they allow you to backup the saves manually, not using the carp PS3 backup tool I mean, then I wont risk it – I was literally two assassinations away before my PS3 bricked, now I have to re-play 80-90% of the game all over again; all this while there’s apparently lots of bugs still unpatched that will happily wreak a further save :(

ok , but will he still be on the map as L symbol where ever he is?

thanks

OMG I started this on Friday and I am HOOKED...........even the mrs things it's a lot better then the first one. She is watching me play it and thinks it looks fun.

I don't think I am very far yet!

i just completed this game and got all the trophies and i have to say i thought it was a really good game, i never played the first one so i don't know what that was like.

Done all the tombs now, found all the glyphs , 2 codecs to find then I just have to wrap up the final 2 bits of the story.

Not bothered about the feathers, I've only found 4 just running around. Looking forward to the DLC when I will re-rent it :)

It's a very big game, infact I'd be a bigger fan if they just located it in one large map with the villa just outside the main map.

All the travelling about does my head in. They should have just set it all in venice and worked with that. There's no real benefit to travelling to another named area to do the exact same stuff in a city that looks and feels exactly the same.

Its a tidy enough game, atleast you don't end up fighting everyone any time you move like in the first one.

The free running isn't as seemless at Prince of persia but it's workable.

For some reason I preferred Altair to this new guy though :)

How many hours have you spent on it so far do you think? I don't think I'm all that far in really, no idea how long this game is.
