Thing is, this flash makes a decent on-camera flash unit. Obviously far better than built in units. Not as good as those by Canon by any means in terms of specs (those which are higher up the range at least), and works very well with Canon's compact camera range. I ditched all my DSLR gear last Christmas due to having commitments which meant I'd rarely get to use my kit. I bought a Canon Pro 1 and a 360AFD, and get very good results with the pair.

It turns out that the 360AFD *can* act as an optical slave with just the flick of a switch, which is nice! :D

Are these any good? I've seen reviews saying the quality is a bit sketchy. Still, only £25...

How does the Jessops one compare to the SB-600? I really want to get a flash to use with my Tamron 90mm I'm getting but would rather spend £70 than £170 if its as good.

Gutted i missed the deal :(. Think I'll hold out till the Jan sales and see if there is anything about.

Won't be anywhere near as good, I was gonna buy the Nissin Di622 (till this offer), as that's very good for the money, was going to buy it over the SB-600 myself.

I have a feeling the recharge time will be longer and the build will most definitely be inferior (I will be black taping up the seams of the plastic shell as there is a bit of light that leaks through the back of the head).

Not bad for the cash, particularly like the fact it can work as a wireless flash triggered by another one :)

Excuse the pic, taken on my old phone as it's the only other thing I own with a xenon flash.
