ATI Radeon 5850 vs 5870

Guru3d December VGA charts show crossfire 5770 beat the 5870 in 7 out of the 9 games tested. Some of the results are close but overall the 5770's are quicker.

Get one card now from the 5800 series and add one down the line when they cheap as chips, then you not restricted.

If you can afford a 5870, go for it.

Like said above, get a second when they are cheaper and xfire.

I did with 4870s.

My friend will do with 5770s.

So that's at least 2 people

I just sold my 4870 for £90 and put that towards my 5770's seemed to make more sense than buying another 4870 (cheaper than a 5770) that would devalue very rapidly.

Nope, CF5770 and keep the other £230\£330+ towards your new next gen card in a year or so.
