LOTRO or Star Wars TOR or Star Trek Online

I have been playing quite a few MMORPGs over the last few years. I got into LOTRO a little while back and I am up to about level 28 or so. I haven't played in about 4 months though. I have 2 60 Day gamecards for it though.

I really want to play Star Wars TOR when it comes out and I can't see myself missing out on it. I am also interested in Star Trek Online but I am not as convinced. Should I use my LOTRO game cards, should I sell them and play Star Trek Online or should I just hang tight until Star Wars TOR?
 
Well SW:TOR is still quite a way off...so why not use your LOTRO timecards now and play that for now, by the time the 2 60 Day cards have run out it would be several weeks into the release of Star Trek Online...long enough for the initial honeymoon period to have run out on it and you should then be able to tell from peoples opinions whether or not its any good. If it is, then you could play Star Trek until SW:TOR is released, or remain with LOTRO if its no good until SW:TOR comes out.

Alternatively, dont play any MMO until SW:TOR comes along and approach it fresh from any potential MMO burnout.
 
STO open beta starts in Jan, so try and get in to that. Then you will see is you like it.

So take a break over xmas. Try the open beta. If you like it sell your time cards.

Just got back into LOTRO after a long break like you, quite enjoying it. :D

Get back into lotro, and get yourself leveled up :)
Its a great game, and has a whole lot to do once your capped :)
 
Save your money and wait for Star Wars, which probably won't be a great MMORPG (will be missing the MM part) but will still be a great game.
 
Use your cards, play LOTRO til STO comes out, play that a bit see what it's like if it's good, great, if not go back LOTRO til SWTOR comes out, rinse and repeat :P
 
LOTRO's latest welcome back week started today so you can play the game for free for the next week and decide then what to do with your gamecards :)
 
Just as an update on this.

I have got stuck in. I played the STO Open Beta and couldn't stand the constant loading screens. LOTRO is really sucking me in - up to Level 49 now and will be entering the Mines of Moria shortly.

It is amazing how much more mature the players are compared to WoW.
 
Which LoTRO server are you on? I love the LoTRO community, other MMO's should take note of LoTRO and it's communities attitude to what is accepetable behaviour and what isn't and the general helpfulness of people.
