How risky is it buying shoes off ebay..

in the sense of them being fake? Also, is there much risk buying from the American Ebay?
I can't find these shoes anywhere in England because they are not made any more but the American Ebay has plenty of them on.

I have only ever bought one pair of shoes off ebay and they were fine, brand new, packaged and all that and I only got them off ebay because they aren't sold in UK (only US) and because the prices was lower than anywhere else...marginally, but still lower.

As you would with any other item, check the sellers info, if they have sub 100 ratings and/or if their % is less than 95, be suspicious

many moons ago i bought some rockport boots, guy had 100s of good feedback but they were crap fakes when they turned up. Got a full refund but still wouldn't do it again

I would say it depends on what type of shoes they are. If they are obviously too cheap I would steer clear aswell.

I do not trust ebay at all. I am on a couple other more erm... shady forums and there are so many threads about drop shipping fake stuff from china on ebay. I've never bought anything on ebay and never will. There's nothing on there I can't get from Amazon, CL, or elsewhere.

I bought a pair I liked off flea bay, They turned up sound so I ordered 2 more pairs, They turned up but were size 4 instead of 14's.
Apparently there had been a mix up which the Seller contacted Me about, I would have Loved to have seen the Doris open her trainers & see my size 14's.
Anyway the Seller apologized loads & said he would credit me back for a pair, I said *** that just send me another pair which he did.
Ended up I got 4 pairs for the price I would buy the better set in the shops. So 4 for the price of One Decent pair. They've not fallen to bits yet & I am hard on my trainers, I'm Happy.

It's very dodgy. The majority of shoes sold on eBay are owned by gypsies and have a habit of walking back to the caravan park.
