The Mrs is currently using a BB 8120 and its a bit battered so I thought I'd treat her to a new one.

A certain online retailer is doing the 8520 for £184.99 sim free, they are B stock but are still warrantied etc.

Ive bought B Stock from them before and everything has been fine so my question is basically how good is the 8520?

At 185 sheets is it worth a punt?

Its an ok phone...does everything that a normal BB would do but is regarded as an entry level BB ie big, thick and not very pocket friendly.

If you wanted something smaller then you would be looking at the 8900 curve.

But other than that the 8520 is a pretty decent phone....it has the new trackpad on it so is much better than the old trackball BB's.

I'm new to Blackberrys and have the 8520 (for 2 months). It's the best phone I've ever had as well.

I've got an 8520 for work - pretty decent. Res is pretty low but it does the job and the trackpad is much better then the trackballs on other BB's.

Absolutely - is it much smaller than the 9k was?

Yes it is...similar to the 8900 curve but slightlyt thicker i think...plus with the Bold keyboard the 9700 seriously rocks and no trackball worries ie uses a trackpad which is 100x's better imho.

I see BB bold2 aka 9700s going for 300-330 on flebay is the best prices lately?

Ive just snagged a BB 8900 curve for £149 but it has a few minor issues, so may stretch for the bold2 :)

But tbh both are lovely fones this 8900 is amazing with its 3.2 camera and fast/responsive too so may keep it.

Thats a pretty good price as long as they are brand new and in boxes etc...picked mine up for £380 from an online shop.

The 8900 curve is a nice phone...but the lack of 3G was the killer for me plus im not a fan of hte curve type keyboard...i prefer the bold keyboard.

You bought it sim-free? Could you not have got it for free on contract? Lot of money outright..

Merry christmas! :):p:D

£380 is quite a bit yeah musta been sim free at that price !

on flebay there pre owned/ or 1-2 months old or display window models going for £330-350, brand new ones are around £360-380 though.

I may start saving up for the bold2, even in few years time I think that fone will hold value:)
