I just tryed loading quake 2 from the ID super pack and it's crashing striaght away...:(

Is it working for anyone else with window 7 64bit ??

Playing this game don't half bring back memorys.......

Seeing Quake 2 running iin 3D on a voodoo1 card was what got me into PC gaming all them years ago..

Works fine for me too, however I can't get Q1 (or any of it's expansion packs) to run in anything other than 640x480 :(

I can set -width -height and -bpp from the launch options, but it causes GLquake to crash :(

Yeah theres a load of stuff available for the oldies.

I know the whole ID collection like Doom, Heretic and Hexen can be run through a program that enhances the graphics a little and gives you mouse look and configurable controls. Seriously theres nothing like jumping onto the old classics with a fan made update.

I remember some quake mods to upgrade the graphics - GLQuake, ands similar. Are they still around, and do they work with the steam version?
I saw some high res texture mods/packs for Q2 ;) while i was looking for the fix..

But i haven't tryed any of them yet..

I downloaded ZDoom and set it up in the .bat files so that Steam loads it instead of the older version. Much better. :)

Tried it and got the same. Edited the renderer in config.cfg to software and it loaded okay. Did a search for opengl fix and found this on steam forums:

"I had a problem getting RTCW to run in the id super pack, and someone suggested installing nhancer and finding the game profile and going to compatibility --> opengl --> extension limit --> set to 4844."

Added a new profile to nhancer (no quake2 one was there) and stuck in above and it works now :)
