I always go for the opposite end fill up and also head straight for the 'pay at the pump' pumps. Why, cause with opposite end fill up I'm convinced you get also get the last few drips in the hose (unless the last person was also thinking along my lines) as the hose is nearly straight and taut. Pay at the pump cause where I live people can't seem to understand the quite simple instructions of insert credit card, enter PIN, remove card, fill up, wait for receipt and then drive away.
Unfortunately the stations with pay at pump local to me don't allow enough fuel out to brim the car if it is empty.

i used to think the same, however the control valve is in the nozzel, so you dont get all the fuel in the hose![]()
