How efficient do you think a lazy, unwilling and untrained workforce could possibly be?![]()
A few executions and some harsh treatment would soon make them change their ways. Let’s see, who else has tried that and been successful.

True but Japan's rise from a feudal system country to a very powerful military power on the world stage was almost meteoric.
China kills little girls and used their bones for the railway!
Lots of bitter Brits here - I've noticed that nearly every single post has slated China and not remarked on the technological wonder of this railway system. It is known that China has an appalling human rights record but there's no point in bringing it up every single time the nation gets mentioned.
China at the very least, don't invade other countries under false pretenses and massacre their civilians. Stones and glass houses people...
But still there is no need for it in our country

Who cares if they kill babies, they didn't invent anything - they paid european companies to build shiny things for them - big deal.
China requires no pretense to slaughter civilian populations - and they do. Are you saying the UK does? If you are you are an idiot.

And you think if China could get away with securing oil reserves by invading other countries they wouldn't do it in a heartbeat? Heh.
That is debatable, millions of people travel by train everyday, a faster service would be beneficial to many
Indeed there is a need for transport. Not specifically Maglev, Maglev is so un cost effective we already have a better solution, it is called an aeroplane. If the government bought everyone plane tickets to get to work it would probably be cheaper and better.
Don't get me wrong, I would love a Maglev train but they just aren't practical yet.
Aeroplanes are hardly a practical solution for relatively short commutes of say 40 miles or so
They are used quite often and successfully in the highland and mainly the islands.
Would they cope with thousands and thousands of commuters heading to and from work daily? would they shorten the overall travelling time enough for it to be worthwhile?
