Free parking London central tomorrow afternoon / evening ?

Hi,

Planning going to Westfields shopping centre with my parents for a few hours tomorrow and willing to park in their car park. Checked and prices are 'ok'

After plan to go to central ( Leicester square area ) to have dinner and a walk around. Any ideas where I can park nearby for free. Would probably be around 5pm onwards ?

Any time I've been in Leicester Sq from that time onwards, people seem to park willy-nilly all over side streets (like outside the Tom Cribb pub) and not pay anything. Never seen a parking warden around there either.

Don't take this as gospel though as I take no responsibility if you get fined.

On a Sunday pretty much all parking restrictions are not in force. Make sure you double check the signs though!!!!!

You can park in bus lanes too, or could last time I was in London

I would suggest that you check the times that bus lanes are in force. Don’t forget that parking and waiting restrictions may also be in operation outside of bus lane hours.

Bus lanes tend to not have any double yellow lines running in them, so when they are not in effect (which is Sunday for all of them when I last bothered to go to London) you could park in them.
Unless something has changed in the last 2 years that is.

Oh, and for the record ... I hate London

Too many people, too many cars and definitely too many taxi drivers who don't know how to drive.

Today: free parking on single yellow and pay and display bays. Avoid the 'resident only bays', double yellow and double reds if you don't want a PCN.

I normally park here (not on the grass of course

That's not true, there are heaps of permanent bus lanes in Central London. Don't follow this advice unless you like fines.
