Ive got the late 2008 unibody aluminium macbook (non pro), and im looking into replacing the hard drive. Can I use the normal 2.5" SATA notebook hard drives like in the ocuk store or do i need some special Apple one?

Any 2.5", look around for one that doesn't use a lot of power/ produce heat & noise. From what I've heard WD Scorpio Blue is a decent choice. 7200RPM drives will probably affect your battery as more power required.

I've not noticed any difference to battery life using a 7,200 drive. the power difference is negligible.
