So i'm guessing everyone remembers this, well the "official" version is that it was a failed russian missile, but this patent might suggest otherwise.

Essentially, this patent describes a method by which an artificial magnetic field line is created by a loop of electrical cable positioned on the Earths surface through which an electrical current of sufficient magnitude is passed.

This artificial magnetic field is tailored in such a manner that the field strength at the specific altitude that contains the plasma to be altered is sufficient to increase the electron cyclotron frequency so that it exceeds the "disruptive" effect of particle collision ... in effect, creating a stable electron cyclotron effect at much lower altitudes than would normally be possible.

This resultant plasma wave propagates outwards at right angles to the incoming modulated wave. This plasma wave apparently can be used to improve or disrupt communications or both depending on what is required.

The end result is essentially the creation of a propagating plasma wave with a specific and controllable wavelength (frequency) which can be used for purposes of communication between similar plasma generating facilities located along the magnetic field line path.

So is this patent suggesting that on purpose or by accident CERN's Hadron Collider or a similar type of project created the phenomena?

It’s the LHC communicating with our alien overlords, everyone knows that.

Well its a bit of a jump to go to communicating with aliens, i was rather thinking of like a missile defence system of some sorts.

Such comments are simply a tactic to ridicule and/or paint the whole subject with the same extreme brush, you see it all the time on the forums, especially when its anything of a fringe nature. :)

If thats a rocket fail then its so full of win for a fail, so i reckon it could well be some atmospheric experiment, perhaps they're beaming haarp energy at it to test communication or who knows what, it looks cool whatever it is.

I don't get how you arrived at the conclusion that it would create a plasma... do you know how hot gas has to be to turn into a plasma? Very.

not nuclear bunkers in the sense of withstanding the blast but fallout shelters in any large building.

more to do with their proximity to the soviet union in the cold war than anything g iirc.
yeah, they're just shelters in basements of buildings that were built during the cold war :p
massive steel doors with AIR-RAID SHELTER written above them

most of the doors are permanently open due to refurbed floors, etc.
and most are just being used as cellars now

Ah nice, thanks for that :D
