hi

how much better is the Thermalright TRUE Copper CPU Cooler? also is it to heavy when the case stands?

or

Prolimatech Mega Shadow Performance CPU Cooler

or

Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Rev. C CPU Cooler

or any other

I wouldn't get the TRUE copper, it is so heavy that thermalright recommends only having it mounted horizontally. Its also very expensive.

The Megahalems is a few degrees cooler than the TRUE and the Tuniq tower - so that would be the one i'd pick.

However, if you already have a TRUE then i'd suggest kepping it - its a very good cooler, you will only get a few degrees from the new cooler. If you want this kind of performance boost, I suggest instead lapping the base of the TRUE and/or adding a more/better fans.

yeah i have a Thermalright Ultra-120A with a 120mm fan 2500RPM.

is a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme Rev.C only slightly better?

There's not a big difference between the A, B & C variations, and some improvements show up more with slower fans. For differences and results see here

Given you already have an Rev A, neither Megahalems or TRUE Rev C is going to make a big difference unless you wanted to reduce fan speed as they are both a fair bit better than Rev A at lower fan speeds.

Edit: Just to clarify - do you currently have the Ultra or Ultra Extreme? If just the standard model then the Extreme version is going to give a few extra degrees as well, so going for from that to a TRUE Rev C. or Megahalems will give some benefit, but still don't expect a huge drop in temperatures.

The newer 6 heat pipe ones may knock 1 or 2 degrees off ur temp, but to me the cooler u have at the moment still is very good.

So spending £40 on a new cooler for only a few dregree's really is'nt worth it imho, that being said if you really want to then the normal megahalms (not the black one) Or noctua's new 140mm fan one.

i have a Thermalright Ultra-120A, the 4 heatpipes one...

Okay so with the Revision A to C changes and the two extra heat pipes you may get around 3 - 5 degrees lower at average fan speeds but not a lot of gain for the cost.

As has been mentioned the Noctua NH-D14 would give a decent improvement, buts it's not exactly small even by tower cooler standards! For the cost of replacing an already good cooler I would certainly try a second/better fans (important for the tight fin spacing on the Rev A & B) and ensuring case cooling is as good as it can be.

I agree with bifday, it would be pointless spending £40+ just for slightly lower temps..

Buy a pair of decent fans and strap them to your current cooler instead.

i've tryed putting 2 fans on my cooler, the 2500rpm fan + 2000rpm fan but the motherboard temp went up by 10c, cpu temp didn't change
When running two fans on a cpu cooler you need two identical models, if one fan is spinning at a different rate than the other this can effect the airflow badly.
