The Official Motorola Milestone Thread

i think its a vocal minority who have had problems, it was only available online so that's where they vent their problems.
apart from the known 2.0 bugs i haven't had any problems with mine.

problems logging into google if your clock is wrong (likely an android not a milestone problem)
camera focus bug switches between good/bad every 24.5 days.
random rebooting (happened 3 times to me so far, had it 2 weeks)

Had a quick play with one in a shop yesterday, wasn't that keen on the actual phone in my hands although the display keyboard was fairly knackered.

How are people finding the camera... anyone care to do a short mini-review of that particular feature? I know some online reviews have done but I much prefer OCUk input, tends to be much more balanced. :)

The video mode is pretty decent (I've only really tested it in daylight).

A mod could do with renaming this thread to include Milestone in the title. We are a UK forum so would help things. Thanks

How's everyone finding the keyboard on this? Is there the option to just use an on-screen one?

I'm currently using an iPhone 3G, and am very used to the on-screen keyboard. I'm playing around with an old G1 at the moment, and typing using the slide out solution is awful.

Thoughts?

Is this thing noticeably quicker than a Pulse? Anyone actually used both?

the g1's h/w keyboard is ace much faster than using the on screen one, the h/w keyboard on the milestone isn't as good usable but crampt numbers are not on a separate line which makes it awkward to use them.

Maybe my hands are too small, but the hardware keyboard on the G1 is awful for me. The buttons are too cramped too :(

I find using the keyboard easy and i wouldn't say my hands are small. I was expecting the keyboard to be quite poor after reading a lot of reviews on the phone but i'm more than happy with it.

As for the camera, i was out in town last night and tried taking a few pics in the clubs. It was dark and i had the flash on but the out come was very poor. I could hardly make the pics out(Seems like the flash on the phone is poor)

On the other hand my friends SE 8.1 mobile the pics was 100x better. Everything was clear and the flash worked really well.
