Hey guys,

Need some help regarding getting my camera insured, are there any insurance company which I can get my camera gear and my mobile insured for the lowest amount of money? Is photoguard the best around?
I have around £750 of camera gear and a £180 mobile phone, what are insurance companies like in terms of camera gear which I bought 2nd hand? As my phone and all my camera gear (bar my 50mm f1.8 which was bought from new but off the bay), would that be much of a problem?

Many Thanks.

check with your home insurance first off to see if they will cover you for it. Also what they will cover when you leave home with the stuff and also any accidental damage etc

I use photoguard personally. £100 a year for £1080 worth of items £1 Million Public Liability.

Without the public liability I was quoted £44 a year for £1500 which isn't bad, however that's only their basic cover.

Thread hijack! That's interesting to know, I'll have a look into that as since getting a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 and other bits the value of my camera bag has risen!

think photoguard do a uk only and a uk/europe insurance but not worldwide. sure most other camera insurance companies do similar packages which will include worldwide
