I am another intermediate 'shopper who is in need of something he can't quite work out how to do.:o

I'm currently designing some new clothing designs for a society I'm the president of, but I've come across an idea I can't put to keyboard. :(

Basically, I want a standard ~10 pixel black border around a design (which is pretty standard) but with an outward explosion hole (akin to something of a pulled-cracker, bullet-hole-esque) just in from the top right corner. A very (VERY :o) rough paint impression of what I'm after is below:

But obviously a lot more realistically ike something paper/fabic-ish has just been blown open.

If anyone can suggest how to go about doing this I would be very grateful. :D

For the record, I don't have the very latest version of the design in question on me, but it's very similar to this:

The idea being, with the blast, the logo is then moved to be outside the border, floating away much higher on the t-shirt/hoodie.

But don't feel compelled to stick it on that design, I'd as much like to begin to learn how to do this as I would produce the final image.

Thank you to any photoshop crusaders who can help out. :)

wtf is with the odd Hiroshima/Auschwitz survivor esq rib cage on the little girl?

That's just ****ing creepy.

It's a banksy print, and to be honest I hadn't noticed that before. The general idea was to be orientated around something students would identify with...

And I had a word with a few law students about it and they informed me they believe there was no restriction on using his works, although correct me if I'm wrong before I make them into clothes. :)

What happens next season when the styles change for the new recruits?, you'd be left with an out of date identity that helps no-one.

Engineers Without Borders also suggests a worldwide effort, how many people in a 3rd world country who is being helped to recover their infrastructure can relate to banksy?

Personally, the logo does nothing but make me think EWB is just full of primark wearing vegetarians.

Start again, and look at it from both sides of the fence. :)

tbh if you want a banksey use the little girl holding the bomb.

The hoodie isn't worn around people in 3rd world countries, it's for members of the society to wear around campus. Whether or not people in the 3rd world can relate to it is irrelevant, it's just advertising for the society, and Bristol students will recognise the Banksy and have their attention drawn to it.

And what's that about new recruits next year? That just seems like drivel to me, societies usually make different hoodies every year, and freshers next year will still know what a Banksy is.

I have a T-shirt with that on =]

Ahh, I thought you were designing a universal logo, rather than just something for people to wear around campus.
