The odean cinema in norwich is wanting to charge £11 a ticket for 3D, this is to much money for two people, we could buy the blu-ray for that... Why is it so expensive?

My local independent cinema is showing the 2D Avatar for £4.45, I think I get it for £3.50 with my student card.

Is the film worth seeing in 2D? I ain't paying £11 a ticket for 3D :/

ive not seen it but ive watched hundreds of films in 2D and never had a problem.

if you get the bluray surely that will be in 2D anyway unless there is some alternative way to get it 3D at home now

personally id go watch it for £3.50 and if its that good that you then think its worth the £11 a ticket then go watch it again

Go to the Vue in the Castle Mall, £8.75/ticket and its spectacular in 3D. I'd say the 2D ticket money would be a waste.

I can't see where you getting £8.75 from. I can get a student ticket for £7.80 but my Dad has to pay a whopping £9.45.

I'm sure cinema tickets at this national cinema chains used to be £6 like a year ago.

Just seems a total rip-off now. Know wonder people pirate

EDIT: Ah yes I see, tommorrow they have 25% off, but we wanna go today.

I saw it with the GF for about £7.70 in 3D at Empire.

Definately worth watching it in 3D though :)

The new Odeon Imax at the metro centre charged me £20 for two tickets on a saturday and that wasnt even in Imax!

It was worth it though, unreal film.

£11.60 is a bit much but regular tickets at the Odeon here at £7.60 each anyway, so £6 is a little optimistic.

Yeah they're making a load of money from blatant 3D opportunism but you're not going to be able to see it in 3D again (unless something magical happens between now and the DVD/Blu Ray release in regards to TV's) so you might as well watch it now.

It's the only film i've seen in 3D where i would say it actually works like it should and enhances the experience. Usually it's just a crap fad where once or twice something appears to hit you in the face but i'd personally (being usually against the whole 3D things and being forced to watch Avatar in 3D for the girlfriend's sake) say it was worth paying the extra. I was surprised.

Where do you get £11? Looking at the Odeon Norwich website it says £7.10 for standard seats plus an additional premium of £2.25 for 3D films. I make that £9.35. Still expensive though.

£11 Ridiculous. I paid £6.60 per ticket for 3d then 80p per pair of glasses

By the way DO NOT WATCH IT IN 2D. You will miss the whole point of the film as far as I am concerned.

Go for the Tuesday 16:20 showing. Weekends are expensive due to demand. Its the cheapest in Norwich so just go for it. Get there early for good seats! As regards pirates....as its been said above, there is no point watching this in 2D or even on TV I don't think. The 3D experience, even at Vue in Norwich, is phenomenal, I can't imagine what its like at IMAX.

We wanted to watch this on Boxing day at a specific time and had to pay £18 each at the Odeon Metro Centre (for the ripoff posh seats). I still think it was worth it for my first 3D experience.

i think i could have enjoyed the film just as much in 2d. i think people are getting just a little carried away with how "amazing" the 3d is. it didn't make or break the film for me....

I am little concerned that the 3d glasses will not sit right over my normal glasses. I can't see for long periods without them. lol

If the 3D glasses are anything like the 3D glasses in Florida they will pinch my nose and side of head, so much it will induce a headache.

ah stuff it, I'm going to watch it in 2D for 75% cheaper :)

Stuff nerdy 3D glasses, stuff IMAX, stuff the £11 fee :/

They will fit fine. They sat over my ostentatious glasses perfectly.

YOu're wasting your time in 2D in my opinion. I had the same view as you before i swallowed my pride and im glad i did.
