Crossfire on the lower power cards can sometimes work very well indeed, though not sure who the target market would be. I wonder how much this costs.

What'd be great would be a low profile version instead of a stubby fat one. Perhaps an OEM will offer such in the near future.

I currently want to kick whoever at AMD decided this should be a full-height card. It looks like it could easily be low-profile.

If you look at the last 2 pictures you can see that the tracing is absolutely packed so lowing the profile would mean they would have to lengthen it.

Get a grip guys, these cards are easy to make low profile, but the majority of computers don't need low profile so why increase the cost. Its likely a heavily packed pcb in terms of traces because the lower in the range you go, the lower layered pcb you can go which saves money and increases reliability. Less traces to go wrong in manufacture, less issues in use, etc, etc.

They can and will, as with every generation before, have lots of varients, some low profile, some longer, some low profile with thicker pcb and same length, some with different cooling and some passive.

First reference ones seen are always the most basic option that will cost the least. Whoever at AMD decided to do the same thing both gfx companies have done for the past decade, is smart, make the lowest cost version available first that the majority will use.
