As you will know the 4890 requires 2x 6 pin power connectors from the PSU. My PSU only has the one.

I have found a splitter than will split the 1 into 2 6 pin PCI-E power connectors.

My question is...will it reduce the power going to the card? or will it work as effectively as if it had 2 seperate connectors?

it might work or it might blow ur psu thats why we need a few more details

I think it's a bit rubbish, but i dunno.

It's a Zoostorm 500W

Shipped with
Q8300 quad @ 2.5ghz
4GM RAM
9800GT @ 512mb
Cold cathodes

Some of the 4890 cards come supplied with this splitter specifically for Psu's with only one six pin power connector. I would make sure the psu is up to the mark before trying it.

I would not try it with that Psu. Never skimp on the Psu cause if it blows it can take out your board and your card. Upgrade to a decent 550W plus.:(
