I thought today i would stick my computer in my old xbox case.

The case is quite bashed up so im going to buy a broke 360 on ebay and use that. I still need to sand it down where i have put holes in it, re-paint it and secure the front USB ports but apart from that im pleased with it.

My camera is not working at the moment but i should be able to get it working in the next few days so then i will upload lots of pics, i will keep this updated if you want but here is a quick pic took on my webcam.

The front power button works fine but its not the orginal one but one from my pc case which fits in well luckly and i have a reset switch at the back. I dont have the covers on at the moment that go on the top and bottom where the HDD normally goes as i didnt have any spares and they went when i sold my old 360. i am going to attempt to put a laptop dvd drive in and fit it into the 360 as there are cables that can convert them to pc sata and i will try and use the eject button that normally comes with the 360 if not its not a big issue.

The silver line accross the 360 is from a bad spray paint a did where i rushed it but i should sort that out soon.

tbh the cooling isnt that bad running browers msn etc as the cpu fan is really close to the hole in the side and if heat does get a problem i will just mount a fan on the outside where i put the girll.

What do you think?

very cool, try and mount the PSU under the desk or something if you have enough wire space, it'll make ya desk look better atleast :p

Thanks, as i didnt have much stuff to work with today i just had to go with what worked. im going to get some extenion cables. 24pin, sata power and one for that 4pin cable on the motherboard and then stick them outside the case so i can hide the PSU somewhere and disconnect it when i need to move it around.

I dont understand why you would want to?
What hardware you got in there anyway?

Sorry about the Really bad pictures but as i said, its on my webca, =/

Oh kool, you will have lots of extra room with one of those motherboards, mines a M-ATX motherboard and fits nicely but not much room and hard to place a HDD in. its very tight.

I saw that and thought it was amazing. i dont have the tools to make something like that or the time ;) i have a xbox here as well i could try put it in there as well :P.

Here is the outside so far, i took the fan off now though as it wasnt really helping it get any cooler.

This is what it looks like down the middle so far, if im going to want to put a dvd drive in its going to be a really tight as i have a old laptop on and it only just fits

This is with the case open, as you can see the hard drive i screwed onto the top of the case

I used motherboard supports or whatever they are called to help lift the hard drive up so i could screw it in tighly

Here is the start of me sorting the cables out so that i can easily disconnect the PSU from the 360, all i need now is a 24pin extension and a P4 extension i think its called. i might extend the IDE if i need to use the DVD drive if i cant fit it in.

From the front so far

What do you think so far then?

mmm, i would maybe look at getting a laptop HDD, save a lot of space, and maybe look at a better way of mounting it, save putting screws through the outside - make the whole build a lot sleaker.

Anyway, looks good, and when its finished will be pretty cool.

An M-ITX would sweet in there if you could get the PSU built in to
