Wasn't there someone who did this to an ati 4350 or similar, But 'got it working' in PCI-E x1?

I say 'Got it working' because I'm not sure if it was true or not.

Possibly cutting the end off the PCI-E 1x slot, therefore making it able to accept a full length PCI-E card.
