What is The nature of God.

Is God this grandfatherly figure or an omnipotent force of creation? , or it God a construct of our minds to explain concepts we cannot comprehend? . Are we all God in some small aspect, is everything God, like we are made up of cells, bacteria, vruses etc, are we just one small part of a universal conciousness?, Are we just banging our heads against a wall constructed of our own insecurity or are we on a journey toward universal understanding ourselves?

No, God has both male and female sexual organs as well as those of seven different genders we mortals do not recognise.

8 breasts too at the last count.

Who knows. Assuming a diety or deitys exist it does not have to be linked with any man known religion

Exactly, take modern organised religion out of the equation, we still have common belief between disparate groups. Is the concept of an all encompassing monotheistic God any more probable than the pantheons of Ancient religion. As we go further back into History, were Humans closer to the truth of God than we, or are we closer the the truth of their being no God.

God is a moral schizophrenic who does not consistently live up to the humane ideals in his religious puff pieces. Discovering the nature of God is like the disappointment of Captain Kirk when asking "What does God need with a starship ?".

He got an awesome beard.

No EM, he doesn't.
This guy on the other hand has one:

If God truly have an awesome beard, I think he made 'Cowboy' out of his own image.

I quite like that. Somewhat like the Gaia hypothesis/theory..

It's known as Pantheism. When people make the claim(s) that Einstein or Hawking were religious, whilst that statement isn't false, people misunderstand what Pantheistic religion means. It's basically using the words God and religion to describe one's atheism.

As for the nature of God, nobody does or could possibly know this. There are people that consider themselves enlightened in the eyes of God, or somehow know God's will and I want to know how they know that?

Also the basis of 'religion' in babylon 5.. everything in the universe is basically part of a consciousness.

Personally I like the idea of everything in the universe and beyond is linked. No need for religion, for clerics or for threats of damnation at unbelievers, bombings or struggle for power..

The concept of God in Islam is a 'being' so far above anything else, that He cannot be compared to anything else in creation. I use the word He, but the actual word for God used in the Quran is 'Allah' which has no plural, and it has no gender etc. Whereas the word God can be changed to Gods or even Goddess, the word Allah cannot be altered as such, many Christians and Jews whos native language is arabic use the word 'Allah' to describe God.

Say: He is Allah, the One and Only!
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him.
-Holy Quran - 112

Surah Ikhlas (above) is a very important Surah from the Holy Qur'an because it proclaims the Oneness (Tawhid) and Absolute nature of Divine Essence. This concept is presented in the first ayat. The second ayat declares that Allah is Eternal, i.e., He is beyond the bounds of time and space. The third ayat describes that Allah does not give birth nor is He is given birth and the last ayat declares that Allah is beyond comparison. Surah Ikhlas directly supports the first declaration (shahadah) of Islam: "There is no god but Allah". In this context, Islam is based on belief in one God.

So why do muslims get all uppity over cartoon drawing that are supposedly of Allah? According to your beliefs they cannot possibly be correct (unlike in the Christian belief where god made man in his image therefore, logically god probably looks like man) so whats the point of making a fuss? Other than the obvious one that quite a few muslims just like making a fuss and want to be treated specially because their beliefs trump everyone elses....
