MAG open beta starts today!

I thought Killzone 2 had excellent gun shooting mechanics and there hasn't been a console FPS that has felt better yet. Unfortunately for some reason it doesn't seem to translate to hectic multiplayer sessions very well - needs to be fewer players at a much slower pace than it already is.

What the hell is wrong with this game!!?!?!?
Half the time i cant connect to the server and the other time i cant spawn, out of 7 try ive only had one very short game
Chill out its a free beta test. Theyre testing for this sort of thing so when you actually spend money on it, it wont happen.
So the theory goes
Many of the most popular games have had beta tests, yet still struggled come release. Halo 3, Modern Warfare and Killzone 2 all struggled to maintain servers on the first week or so.
Im sorry but 1st impression count when it comes to games and mine so far have not been good.
That's very unreasonable and you know it. Beta tests have been like this since time immemorial. The illustrious Modern Warfare beta test on Xbox 360 was exactly the same, and that turned out to be a monster of a game. Same for the Halo 3 beta test, which didn't even start on the proposed date in Europe because the servers were ruined.
Well played it last night only for 30mins or so, straight into a game no problems, i did enjoy the time i played it but i dont think its something i would go back to as unless you are in a few squads of your m8s if not ppl will just go alone and die most of the time.
Also i sucked at it but im going to give it abit more time first for a beta thou i aint had any wierd issues as of yet.

You think its unreasonable for me to believe a game should work when it is released to the public? Now i understand that there will always be problem with the release of games but i think after they have had a closed beta with many players that they should be able to release a game and it should run reasonably not perfectly but reasonably well.
Edit: also halo and call of duty were already an established franchises with a popular history of playing these games online so a bad beta was unlikely to stop these games from being hits or being played online.

I do agree that you are being somewhat unreasonable, if your argument were true, then there would be no need for the open beta, thus negating it and bringing forward release. There is a need for open beta, because it allows the companies to test the game on a much larger scale than the closed beta. At the end of the day, if you see 'beta' you should expect some issues and allow for them.
Just like MAG is with its history of previous SOCOM releases.
Its a beta, irrelevant of how many times a beta has been released its still a beta so carries the same caveats - considering the network technology they are employing to support 256players on a console games it might not be unsurprising some network issues are still being sorted? I couldnt say the same about other established franchises...

You need eng guys repairing it from below, with assault guys giving cover and suppressive fire when needed.Gah its so hard to keep the bridge mended to get APCs across - must be useless squad mates (cough cough)
Sadly unless you are playing with mates or guys from here, useful squad mates are far and few to be that organised. Also so easy to be sniped from the SVER side when you are below the bridge - limited cover...

Quite enjoyed what I have played so far, but it wont be an immediate purchase for me – I think I will wait for at least a couple of patches in to its release before I pick it up; bit concerned that it’s a little too optimistic with the amount of players it offers as the 256 player games seem to be very laggy, the last I was in was totally unplayable.
I know this is a beta, but I understood the release was this month, so surely they would have the infrastructure in place ready to support the amount of players, yet the beta seems plagued with connection issues. Granted, once I’m in a game and it’s running well, it’s fun, but sadly there’s far too many idiots playing that either don’t bother with their assigned objective, or Rambo it; worse still are the camping snipers who are happy to sit back and not help, save getting the odd kill ever few minutes!

I actually had a few issues for them, but couldn't get onto the bug reporting forum, apparently it thought my beta code wasn't valid?
Ah well.
When it worked the game was fun to play but i must have finished less than 10% of the games i played and i lag out or just couldnt spawn the other 90% of the time, so this game will definatly be a wait and see for me.
