Anyone know where I can find a list of full native 1080p games available on both systems?

Having a debate with a colleague over which has more native 1080p games rather than the usual upscaled to 1080p.

Can only find old listings from 2008 which are pretty pants

if you are saying full 1920x1080 all the time then there isnt a console game out as far as I know - 1080p is quite an umbrella term unfortunately...

Virtua Tennis 3 says it offers native 1080p support. Whether or not its just 1080 vertical res, i don't know.

1080 is miss represented.

Most expect the True HD resolution 1920x1080
In this True HD format their are only a handfull of games on X360 or PS3 that do this. Some PSN and Live games offer it too.

However that is not how it works.
If a source material or game allows 1080 vertical resolution then it can be classed as a 1080 game.
The internal scaler can then be used to scale the horizontal plane to the 1920 res.
PS3 can only scale in this way but X360 I believe can offer scaling via both hor/vert

Xbox 1 for instance had a few games in 1080i via NTSC versions.
Dragons Lair is one I can remember and also Soul Calabre.
However take Soul Calibre yes it offered 1080i increased resolution but only in 4:3 mode.

Around the same time GT4 on PS2 offered 1080i on the NTSC version yet it only looked marginally better than 480p
GT5P is reported as being 1280x1080 but classed as a 1080p game. Uses the horizontal scaling mentioned above.

Bottom line the devs will use tricks and ways to get around the labelling and marketting as really thats all it is. Wipeout HD, Ridge Racer 6? GT5 all on PS3 I believe may of supported 1080 in some form or other.

Wipeout HD and GT5 Prologue all offer close to 1080p but with a bit of vertical or horizontal scaling.
I may be wrong, but I think Full Auto 2 is proper 1080p, and it also has 4x AA! Shame its a rubbish game.

I've just found what you're looking for, go down to the second/third post and there's a list of games with the resolution and AA type:
http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=46241

According to that, Ridge Racer 7 is 1080p with no AA.

I think a lot of posts here have ignored what myself and Mr Latte said, if the game does 1080 lines vertically then in essence it is 1080i/p - the horizontal resolution is totally irrelevant.

In that context GT5P is 'native' 1080p as considered by the standard

Again its dependent on exactly what you want from your question and how exacting your terminology is. For me I always consider the aspect ratio aswell..

I have a feeling the op was asking what games could he play on a PS3 or XBOX 360 at the native "1080p" 1920x1080 of his TV/Monitor.

I honestly think the answer is none - WipeoutHD could have easily been but they wanted to maintain 60fps...

Its stupid how little reliable information there is out there...

Quite a few PSN games are 1080P native. Tekken 5: DR, pixeljunk games, Calling all Cars off the top of my head. Having said that T5 is an upscaled PS2/PSP games and the others have less "flashy" graphics (which probably helps them hit native 1080P easily).

I think the 1st 360 1080P native game was Virtua Tennis 3, although that was a while back.

One of those 3d games/forums (forget the name) used to dissect games by counting pixels and found a "definitive list", again, it was a while back, but I am sure the link is somewhere here in an old thread.
