Usually takes me about 20 minutes to get in a groundwar game and rarely manage to stay in for more than 2 maps before some error happens.

Demolition takes about 10-15 minutes on average and usually can stay in for 4-5 maps before something drops you.

TDM is usually quicker getting into - but I've rarely managed to get through one map let alone 2 before the host rage quits or IW Net messes up.

The HC game modes usually take around 10-15 minutes to get in a game and stay connected longer.

Are you serious? There must be something up with your connection mate! As said within previous posts, HC HQ is all i play and it is rarely that bad

To reiterate, if you can find a group of people to play with, that have a solid connection, the game will be generally lag free.

I agree RE groundwar though. Bandwidth requirements are generally too high for most people.

Been enjoying the SP tbh of late, as the Multi gets on my nerves.

Never read any reviews so the storyline is quite refreshing, currently working through some Russians in the USA.

Loved the Airport level, enjoyed chalking up civilians as they crawled away :D

The ones that crawl got stabbed by me :p

Nope its not anyones connection, its the randomness of IWnet, I only started playing the MP yesterday and so far i would say over 25% of my time has been in the lobby, Your in the list then loadsa folk leave, you get another bunch then you get to 3 second count down and loadsa folk leave or get moved,

Looking around this is a tactic used by people to make sure they get picked as host so they get a better game

And then theres the lag.........................

If we all had bad connections why can we go back and play MW1 or L4D at 30ms ping. The only common factor in this is IWnet is rubbish

IWnet and the whole MP experience is rotten,

and

DUP :I remember spending longer trying to connect ot my favourite servers becasue they were always full.

yeah but at least you could go somewhere else and get a game!!

does it really take this long, i got for ps3 and was thinking about getting it for pc but if this is true no way am i gonna waste my money on it.

Probably on average... sometimes I'll get right in a game... other times I will see "host disconnected", "lobby closed", "Unable to migrate host", "No suitable host found", "Stream Disconnected" until I give up.

It usually takes me about 5 minutes to find a playable game. I don't usually have many problems once I've found a game though. The 5 minutes is mostly due to having to wait for the intermissions to run down before I find out if the host is crap or not... or if I'll get unable to connect to host.. or lobby closed... or...

Playing with a large group though, sometimes it can take 5-10 minutes to get us all in the same game.

It's a fifty fifty chance that I will connect and stay connected for the game and have a reasonable ping (from bar standards anyway) as when host migration happens sometimes I go straight to red bar and have to leave =/
And I have never been able to play much of the game types only TDM and the low level ones as the others take ages to get started

Not exaggerating that much.

Tho it was a bit quicker when I had UPnP enabled for NAT traversal - not sure if that makes a difference... but I had to disable it as almost every time it made me host but for some reason its completely unplayable for everyone else when I play*.

* Despite the fact I have a low latency 1+Mbit upload, fast quad core CPU and SLI graphics setup - and hosting any other game is silky smooth for every one.

I've not had a single problem with mp yet. Only had 2 host migrations and they only took 14 seconds.

You have never had could not connect to host, game lobby closed or any of the other random messages when trying to get a game going? I know 5 people who have bought this game and countless more on forums etc who all get connection errors and this is down to IWnet not our connections / PC. I'm sorry but I just cannot believe that for one moment.

90% of the people who say they have no problems are probably always being picked as hosts.

When im playing with a mate we struggle casue he always gets chosen as host then its unplayable for everyone else, he is on 3mb adsl, nothing special pc wise. we have googled around but no solution, i will pass one the upnp from Rroff, cheers

Even those who say no problems have to concede that there are big problems of a majority of players, either personal friends or forum members, open your eyes, the MP is a long way from "not a single problem" for loads of us who try to play

a few times but it is hardly a problem and i get it less than i got the 'server is full' messgae on cod4

Meh fair enough, I guess it depends how much patience you have! Not much in my case..I cant stand those errors and they frustrate the hell out of me :(

That’s really odd mate. I don't doubt that it's not your computer but the fact that the game is pants for everyone when your host suggests that something’s up with your connection.

Personally, when my NAT was not open my game play did seem to deteriorate. I actually had to Telnet into my router to execute a number of commands which fully enabled my NAT.

How can you even argue that point though, you just goto the next server down or another favourite, you knew it was full before your tried to join in MW1!!!

At least you could still play!

I don't think anyone is denying the fact that IWNet is the worst thing to happen to PC gaming since the wallhack was invented.

Belive me I am monitoing the TEKNoGods project on a weekly basis.

EDIT: Appears they have done it!*(&(*&^

EDIT2: Appears Dedicated servers will be out in a few weeks depending on thier progress!!!!
