It appears I may be upgrading to the family car in the coming months - a 53 plate Avensis T3-X. I'm therefore looking at the headunit with regards to fitting a 'line-in'. So.. before I start investigating the headunit in some greater detail, with a screwdriver
p or some such implement, taking great care not to damage it!) does anyone know if there is a standard means of connecting a line in to these headsets, or if special hardware will be needed? Google has thus far revealed nothing, although partly because my internet is currently painful, so I'm still working on that front.
I'd rather not want to replace the entire headunit for many reasons, including cost, integration with steering wheel controls, and aesthetics, but if I can plug a line-in through the back rather than resorting to a tape adaptor I'd much rather do that.
I'd also be interested to hear people's opinions on the switch - obviously it's a different class of car, quite an upgrade in most areas, but something of a downgrade in terms of it being a driver's car.
FYI, the spec is: 2003 Avensis 1.8l T3-X Tourer (petrol) vs 1995 Peugeot 106 1.4l Aztec (petrol).
Cheers.
