Now that my daily average is pretty much where it should be on EOC (top producer if anyone's interested :p), it's time for some more parps.

The following three are the higher producers within my sights over the next week:

Kerto and cyclo will both fall over the weekend.
FatRakoon will fall in about a week's time.

Clear out your cells and prepare to be boarded people, Stan_Lite's coming through :D

Long range parp to Bigstan as well, the slacker :p At this rate, I'm due to stomp myself in 3.6 months time :D

im due to stomp you in about 1.8 weeks but you catch up again in 5.5 months, im hoping to lengthen that time if plans go my way. have an 8800gt sitting here ready and hopefully another on the way shortly to replace the 8800gts 320's i currently have in with my 9800gx2. and as long as leadtek repair my other 9800 gx2 properly i should be able to keep you at bay for a while longer.

Well, I'm past Kerto now but there seems to be a problem :(

My i7 rig should have dumped a bigadv WU early yesterday morning but there's no sign of it. I've e-mailed my flatmate to check it and get me a screenshot if possible to see if I can work out what's happening - it may have just died inexplicably, as sometimes happens, although I can't think why, as it was chugging away quite happily for two weeks with no problems. I'll probably just get her to switch it off if there's a problem. If the machine has become unstable for some reason, I don't want it to be EUEing or anything if I'm not there to hold it's hand.

This is why I keep quitting F@H. Every time I turn my back, things start going wrong for no logical reason. Rigs that have been stable and happy for weeks will, all of a sudden, start falling over

Perhaps it is best you don't run bigadv while you are away. I don't think it is 100% stable to begin with, let alone on consumer hardware. At least with standard SMP less is likely to go wrong. Though I do know just about anything of yours goes belly up when you are away.

Maybe it is a sign you are too oppresive, your rigs are speaking out [when you're safely out of reach] :p

Stan the Oppressor is back :D

I've employed an assistant Folder in the shape of my flatmate (the lovely Kelleeeeeeeeeeee). For the princely sum of a chinese buffet and a bellyful of vodka and coke, she will be my manual client sorter outer. I talked her through restarting the bigadv on the VM on the i7 rig and I've got her to install logmein on the other machine in the computer room on which I have FahMon so I can monitor what's happening. If anything stops working I will know within an hour or two and I can get her to fix things as required.

When I logged in to the monitoring machine this morning, I immediately saw that the VM on there had stopped itself again saying "User requested" (the day I left, no less ). It's done it a couple of times before and if it does it again, I'll put that back to Folding Windows SMP alongside the GPU2 client instead of the VM until I can get back and find out why it's doing it.

Trying to type commands into a VM on a remote machine over a very slow satellite connection from an oil rig in the Mediterranean is annoyingly painful. The lag isn't too bad but almost every keystroke brought up multiple characters on the VM console - like sticky keys. Trying to type a simple command like "./fah6 -smp 4" took me about 20 minutes. When multiple characters came up, I would backspace and it would delete everything back to the beginning and I would have to start all over again. I eventually hit on a solution. When I got multiple sss or mmms etc., instead of trying to backspace, I used the arrow keys to position the cursor where the next character should be and typed that letter and repeated the process as required. When I had the command typed properly, I deleted the unwanted characters in front of the command - quite ingenious, I thought.
I think the final command looked something like this before I deleted the extra characters - ./fah6 -smp 4444mmmmmmmmssssss-------666666hhhhhhhffffff////////........... :p

Apart from the i7 stopping for whatever reason and the VM on the GPU/VM hybrid stopping itself, everything else appears to be plodding along just nicely  I7 is due to dump it's bigadv about this time tomorrow morning so should boost my currently flagging ppd a bit.

Lol folding what a nightmare it can be if it hates you or is that just me

i don't wanna be stomped :( although its looking more likely at the moment till i get more ram then we shall see ;)

Not just you mate. I have to struggle with it constantly :(

You will be stomped - adding RAM won't save you. If all my stuff keeps working, I'll have about 45,000 ppd. Resistance is futile :p

PS: Please note shiny new sig - courtesy of our friend Piggott. Many thanks for the sig generator thingy dude

Well i gonna leave a mess behind me for ya only fair ;)

Nice sig now i will be able to see you creeping up from behind :(

Looks like bed for me wonder what folding will have in store for me today BSOD, SMP unable to shut down cores or the classic name and team change, gotta love that one :D

That's one I've never had before - I'm jealous now :( :p

I've had the others in abundance - along with clients just stopping and doing nothing for no reason and my latest addition, the client shutting down, apparently at my request, when I'm 2,000 miles away  and many others.

Edit: There'll be no "creeping" btw. It'll be full on, size 11 stomping. Absolutely nothing as subtle as creeping :p

Stan has and most likely never will 'creep' up the ranks
It's top 3 producers or not on!
All I can say is he's overtaken me at lease three time with different ID
And it's always been a pleasure to hold him off or a day or two ;)
But you two have got to be the most unlucky folders in this team (hands out cookies)

You're too kind SS. I look on my experiences as an example of how to overcome obstacles and still achieve under seemingly hopeless conditions - or, pigheadedness if you prefer :p

My motto: If at first you don't succeed, buy more/better hardware and swear loudly at it :D

Biffa: You won't be calling me a slackah when I'm knocking on the door to your cell in a year's time (or less ;)).

I just hope it wont get the better of me and i end up putting my foot or fist through it i have a very short temper and hate it because it makes me kill ipod's and many other electronic devices then 2 second's after i have obliterated it i think why did i do that :(

Here's some Ballistix Tracer that wouldn't work for you to enjoy :D:(

I saw the photo of the RAM before I read the text, and for a moment I thought it had melted!

*runs off to check temps*

Nah i just went all out on it :D, saved throwing PC out the window though (nearly did :() i have problems lol

I tend to get a little irritated sometimes too. I had an old mouse (ball type) which wasn't working properly so I painstakingly took it apart and cleaned everything inside and put it all back together - twice. It still wouldn't work so I lost the plot and picked it up by the lead and smashed it several times off the desk. Then I went to buy a new one. Surprisingly satisfying, smashing up something that annoys you :D

First bigadv WU (since restarting) has been submitted and, once EOC stats catch up, cyclo will have size 11 footprints all over him :D

FatRakoon should fall in 2-3 days time (as soon as Stanford get the assignment servers up and running).

All a bit later than hoped but that's the way Folding works (or doesn't) with me :p

Yeah i love smashing stuff but only in that split second when my mind falls over and gives in to rage :D

Stomp him hope to get him off my back soon then i will only have one person to worry about :p

EDIT: Also put the PS3 back to fold so i can just stretch my legs a bit more :(

Now that everything is running as it should be (famous last words), cyclo and FatRakoon have succumbed and I am ready to make fresh parps (see new thread).

STOMP STOMP STOMP :D
