Hi guys,

Dad has an issue, his passport (along with driving license) is in a lorry which has currently broken down just South of Paris. He's travelling to Africa on Sunday (well meant to be :p)

Now if he had his photo ID (driving license) he'd just go up to the passport office in London on Saturday and get a same day jobby...

But obviously he doesnt...

Now other than sending one of his peasant children (ie me) out to go and get it from the Lorry, what options does he have? :)

Cheers,
Jake

looks like 1st flight to Paris time

unless there is some sort of mental expensive next day, saturday delivery courier service

Tbh if u set out now or early tomorrow you could easily be there and back in 8h.

Think of it as an adventure !

Not true I'm afraid - For a "lost" or missing passport it's a minimum of a week to get a replacement: the only way you can get a same day one is if you produce an expired passport when you get to the passport office. Trust me, I've had bitter experience of this :(

So your dad is not in Paris with the truck that contains his passport/driving licence?

I guess you are not clued up on how all these illegal immigrants come through the channel in lorries with 'stolen' documents.

Combine it with the fact that his dad is flying to Africa for 'business'..

Hmm, I can smell something fishy here..I bet..

On a serious note, call the passport department and ask them what are the options, only they can tell you.
