Hi all

this is my second attempt to spec a a quiet and energy efficient i5 based system, the first was just more than I can afford at the moment! I'm going to be using the system for some gaming (aiming for basic playable frame rates) and 3d rendering. I won't be overclocking. When cash allows, I'll probably add another 4GBs of DDR3 and upgrade the graphics. Anyway, I'd really appreciate comments and suggestions on the components (especially as some are definitely in the budget area).

Many thanks again (and sorry for asking for comments yet again!)

There are several better gfx cards for the money.

I'd sooner take a £65 512mb 9800GT than the poor performing 5750 (9800gt = 8800gt). For much better still at £85 they have a Palit 250GT 1GB (250GT = 9800gtx).

Is there no way you (by which I mean I) could buy all these parts and pay overclockers a fee to assemble them all for me? Never worked with building a computer myself and I'd rather just be lazy and have it done for me.

Is this not in essence what the pre built systems are? (If you give em a ring then they will allow you to swap out various components as they are build to order according to the site). :)
